PIED-MONT! PIED-MONT! PIED-MONT!
Seriously, though, 2:20:43 for his first marathon is quite impressive, although not surprisingly considering his credentials.
There was a short article about his training in the "Piedmont Post" this summer (his/Katherine's/my hometown newspaper) and his mileage looked like something out of Lydiard's base-building period: 10/15/18/13/11/22/11 for ~100 miles/week. Then again, he might have just fed something random to the interviewer.
Great! I heard conditions were sub-ideal.

Also, most importantly: 12th place overall in one of the most competitive marathons in the world
Is there still that bridge at the end?
2nd USA finisher, too.
That chick sitting next to him in the picture frightens me. Look at her! Isn't that scary!?
